Eighth Grade

Hello, my name is Richard Mullins, and I am the middle-level English, Writing and GT teacher here at CDA. I'm originally from Michigan where my teaching career began. Before moving to Charleston 7 years ago with my lovely wife I taught for 3 years in Chicago. I have been teaching for a little over a decade, and besides teaching middle school in the low-country I have also taught 3rd and 5th grade up north. I am a National Writing Project Teacher Coordinator, a CCSD Literacy Leader, and a lead teacher at CDA. I love to read, and try to instill that passion into all of my students. I am driven to ensure that all of my students succeed; not just in school but life as well. I expect a lot out of each student regardless of their abilities, and I push them to pursue an active role in their education because my goal is that they leave CDA with a life-long love of learning.
